Matchside Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 July 2026
Matchside ("we," "us," "Matchside") operates matchside.co and the Matchside newsletter. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what rights you have over it.
Who we are
Matchside is operated by Louis Adams, based in the UK. For any privacy questions or requests, contact us at matchside.london@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Email address — when you subscribe to our newsletter, via the website or a linked signup page.
- Acquisition data — where you came from when you subscribed (e.g. which page, or a UTM-tagged link such as a Reddit post), so we can understand which channels work.
We do not collect payment information, and we don't ask for anything beyond an email address to subscribe.
Why we collect it
- To send you the Matchside newsletter, which you've asked to receive.
- To understand which of our channels (Reddit, website, social) bring in subscribers, so we can improve them.
- To operate and improve the website and newsletter generally.
Our legal basis for sending the newsletter is your consent, given when you subscribe. You can withdraw that consent at any time by unsubscribing.
Who we share it with
- Beehiiv — our email newsletter platform, which stores your email address and sends our newsletters on our behalf, acting as our data processor.
- Supabase — our website's backend database provider, which may process form submissions before they reach Beehiiv.
We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers or other third parties for marketing purposes.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address for as long as you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we stop sending you emails and Beehiiv retains only what's needed to honour that unsubscribe request (so we don't accidentally re-add you).
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you can ask us to:
- tell you what data we hold about you
- correct inaccurate data
- delete your data
- stop processing your data
To exercise any of these, email matchside.london@gmail.com. You can also unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email we send.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to run and improve the site:
- Essential — local storage used for core site functionality, such as remembering that you've dismissed a signup prompt so we don't show it again too soon. These don't require consent, as the site can't function properly without them.
- Analytics — we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, general location and device type, how you found us). This helps us improve Matchside. Analytics cookies are not essential, so they only run if you consent via the cookie banner when you first visit.
- Search and indexing tools — we use Google Search Console to understand how Matchside appears in Google Search results. This does not set any cookies on your device or track your visit; it only shows us aggregate search performance data.
You can change your cookie preferences at any time via the cookie settings link in the site footer, and you can also control cookies through your browser settings.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest version.
